Shipping Container Homes for Needful Veterans in the Grand Strand Area

imageIn my last blog, I promised  to tell you about exactly how the veterans housing development plans to house local veterans in need.

Here’s the plan: an entire village will be built out of low cost shipping containers. One of the first times this was done was during Hurricane Katrina relief efforts. This method of building proved to be not only affordable, but also environmentally friendly, structurally sound, and easy to construct.

These containers are designed to provide a sense of home and the floor plan allows for easy access to all areas and a larger feel.

Next blog, I’ll discuss how the VHD plans to make these veterans and their community self sufficient.
