The Importance of Healthy Snacks to Combat Juvenile Diabetes!

Last time, we talked about reducing sugary beverage intake and drinking more H2O! Today, I’d like to focus on healthy snacks.

Healthy snacks are an important between meal “pick me up” that can help maintain good energy and blood sugar levels, not to mention the fact that snacks keep you from getting so hungry that you make poor meal choices or over eat.

Some good examples of healthy snacks are: edamame, frozen fruits, home made smoothies (using healthy ingredients), and almonds or other nuts.

Get started today with your healthy snack routine. Pack your treats in the morning before school or work and enjoy them between breakfast and lunch and again between lunch and dinner!
