Buddy Week: February 16th – 20th

Gracie Bully Proof Intensive: This course will instill confidence by teaching children to protect themselves from overly aggressive kids by teaching highly effective, non-violent self defense techniques. This will be a 2 day seminar held on Saturday, February 7th from 12pm–2pm and Saturday, February 14th from 12pm–2pm. 4 class credits and 4 leadership points will be awarded. Tuition is $50. (students paying for Black Belt Test in January receive a 50% discount.

Free First Aid Seminar: February 14th immediately after the bullyproof intensive from 2:15pm–2:24pm. Tom Gwyer, a Battalion Chief with Myrtle Beach Fire for 22 years will be coming in to teach this seminar. He’s been a national registry paramedic for 18 years, instructor for SC Fire Academy & American Heart Association, taught EMT classes for 5 years at Horry Georgetown Technical College, has received several life saving awards and has authored 4 research projects published by FEMA.

Message of the Month: “It takes a village to raise a child”

Project: Bring in a healthy non-perishable snack or juice box for the backpack buddy program. Help4Kids/Backpack Buddies is a volunteer organization that relies on donations and believes children should not go to school hungry. They have been providing children with food and other necessities in Horry County for 25 years! Please visit their website to learn more about what they do and how you can help!

Some examples of healthier options for donation: granola bars, dried fruits, 100% fruit juice boxes, whole grain crackers, oatmeal, etc..
