First Aid For Self Defense Part 2: Burns

The next section of this month’s first aid blog is on the subject of burns. Keep in mind that these treatments are very basic and geared towards children.

In any emergency scenario,the first step is to make the area safe (remove the hot object or take the injured person away from the danger).

Next,have the burned person hold the affected area under cold running water for 10 minutes. While they’re doing this, kids should go and get an adult to assess the situation and determine whether or not further treatment is needed.
